What We Handed Over: Why I Built The Citizens’ Project 2025

The unraveling didn’t happen overnight.
It was methodical. Intentional.
What once shocked us became familiar.
What once violated our shared ethos was normalized.
The indecent became acceptable. Then strategic.
We watched—some with horror, others with silence—as decency gave way to dominance.
As truth became negotiable.
As science was recast as opinion, and opinion elevated to moral truth.
As both the right and the left clung to ideological certainties that left little room for humility—or humanity.
We didn’t just lose something.
We handed it over.
Piece by piece.
We trusted those in power.
And were delivered a buffet of chaos and confusion that does not serve us.
There came a moment when I could no longer find the words.
Only grief.
Grief for what once was:
Civility.
Discourse without destruction.
Politics that shaped policy—not poisoned every part of our lives.
And when the words wouldn’t come, I did what I knew:
I built.
👉🏾 So, what is The Citizens’ Project 2025?
It’s not a campaign.
It’s not a nonprofit.
It’s not another group to join or a page to follow.
It’s a people-powered movement to reimagine the republic and reclaim our democracy—by giving everyday people the tools to speak, act, vote, and connect with courage.
This is about showing up—not scrolling past.
About civic clarity—not more noise.
About doing the work—not waiting to be saved.
